The Yvernay’s are a couple working in the Pierres Doreés, in the southern most part of Beaujolais near Lyon.  They are farming with horses and never using chemicals including S02. This is from 115 year old Gamay vines planted on granitic sand and clay. They have to use climbing gear to harvest from the steep slopes. Aged in 2000 liter old barrels. Light, fruity with bright acidity and depth - and a touch of earthy funk.
