L´OCTAVIN/ALICE BOUVOT
Jura, France
After attending musical school Alice decided to learn about winemaking in Burgundy and Bordeaux, before setting up a her small celler in 2004 in the town of Arbois in the Jura region. Starting off everything from scratch working of two hectares vineyards. The domain has grown over the years and she is now currently working with five hectares consisting of Chardonnay, Savagnin, Poulsard, Trousseau and Pinot Noir. Alice is very lucky to be working on with some of the region’s very best officially recognized named places in France (“lieu dits”) La Mailloche, En Curon, Les Nouvelles & Les Corvées. Everything is grown organically certified biodynamic by Demeter. But also from a “negotiation” with grapes from her friends, she carefully selects and supervises, only working with those who share the same vision of agriculture as her. Alice just happens to be one kindest and most humble people we’ve meet. She’s a Hard worker. Everything Alice does is done with respect to the earth and that there are absolutely no additions to the wines what so ever.
