Cati Ribot, “The sparkling Lady”, is currently leading the Natural movement on Mallorca. Cati is the third generation winemaker working the family winery in Santa Margalida (northeast Mallorca). She set out to change the way the winery have previously been making wines with manipulative methods on bigger industrial scale. The search for true expression of Mallorca set her on a path to her personal project “Ve D’Avior” (a Catalan word from Mallorca that means “wine from the time passed”) that released the first vintage in 2019. Focusing on indigenous varieties of the island, making sure the wines are made pure and true which is returning what Mallorcan wine has become back to its true self again. Taking on Organic Practices with little to no intervention and without added sulphites to her wines. Cati’s generosity also shine bright as she has let handful of youngsters, winegrowers and winemakers share her space in the winery, making the winery the Meka for the Local Natural wine movement!
